1. Identify Funding Opportunities

  • Grant Databases: Search for grants on platforms like Grants.gov, Foundation Center, and NYC's funding portal.

  • Government Agencies: Look into funds from federal, state, and local agencies (e.g., U.S. Department of Health, NY State Department of Health, NYC Department of Social Services).

  • Foundations & Philanthropies: Research grants from foundations and philanthropic organizations in healthcare, social services, and community development.

2. Review RFPs in PassPort

  • Database Search: Use PassPort to find relevant Requests for Proposals (RFPs).

  • Filtering: Narrow RFPs by criteria like funding amount, focus area, and eligibility.

  • RFP Details: Review program guidelines, application instructions, and deadlines to ensure alignment with program goals.

3. Develop and Submit Applications

  • Proposal Development: Write a grant proposal detailing objectives, activities, outcomes, and budget needs.

  • Partnership Building: Identify partners to strengthen the proposal and program implementation (e.g., community organizations, healthcare providers).

  • Budget Preparation: Create a detailed budget narrative and justification following funder guidelines.

  • Submission Process: Submit the proposal as directed in the RFP, adhering to deadlines and instructions.

4. Manage Grants and Reporting

  • Grant Acceptance: Formally accept the grant and fulfill any extra documentation or reporting needs.

  • Implementation: Carry out funded activities as planned, maintaining accountability and compliance with guidelines.

  • Reporting: Submit progress, financial, and program evaluations reports as required by the funder, using PassPort for tracking and management.
